Frequently Asked Questions

Who is this program good for?

This program is designed for individuals who are medically stable and not severely underweight, but still struggling with anorexic thoughts and behaviors. It can be used on its own or in conjunction with therapy. This program focuses on the nutritional and metabolic side of recovery and works well alongside talk therapy, CBT, or psychiatric care. We ask only that your existing providers are aware you are participating. A thorough medical evaluation is required to determine whether this approach is right for you.

Is this program safe, and how is my health monitored?

Safety is central to the program. You must be under the care of a medical professional who will monitor your labs, vital signs, any medications, and overall well-being. Our dietitian will communicate with your personal primary care team as needed.

Do you accept insurance? Unfortunately, we do not at this time, but we can assist you in submitting a bill for consideration by your insurance company.

Is any equipment needed?  We will provide you with a ketone measuring device and, if desired, a scale that transmits your weight to the dietitian but is not visible to you.

Is this program right for me if I've already tried other treatment programs? Many of our participants have been through traditional treatment programs — inpatient, outpatient, or therapy-based — without achieving lasting freedom from anorexia. Our approach works differently by addressing the brain's fuel source, so there is no way of knowing if this program will work without giving it a try.

Is there an age requirement? The program is designed for adults (18+). If you are inquiring on behalf of a teenager, please contact us to discuss since parental involvement and medical oversight is essential.
